The Glenridge Landfill Citizens' Committee formed in 1984 in response to environmental issues attributed to the Glenridge Quarry landfill site.
The Glenridge Quarry Naturalization Site is located at the junction of Highway 406 and St. David's Road in the City of St. Catharines. From 1976 until 2001 the area was a landfill site.
The Glenridge Quarry Naturalization Site was one of Ontario's first comprehensive "Green Sites". Efforts were made in the design of the site to reduce energy consumption, reuse natural materials and recycle building materials.
